As some children grown up and get older, the body starts to act differently upon them. Many changes start to occur and one of these significant changes is the slowing production of lactase to break down all of the lactose in the body. This regulates the way it does because of prior genetics. It is said that levels of the small intestinal lactase are regulated by synthetic rate and pretranslational mechanisms. The reason that as the child matures, the lactase starts to stop producing or slow its production because of the drop of the movement of lactase messenger RNA.

Turning Off Gene Expression
1) The first possible way is the failure of transcribing a gene into RNA. This comes to an advantage when the gene needs to be disfuntional for a longer period of time. 2) Reducing transcription and translation. Active proteins that are no longer needed or aren't fully affective take on apoptosis. 3) RNA Interference blocks translation which results in the disfunction of gene expression. 4) Competitive Inhibitors cause a blockage of the active site which slows down production. |
